Politicians Powerless to create a budget

The Commonwealth of Kentucky has shown once again that elected Senators and Representatives cannot stop bickering about petty differences long enough to pass the main item mandated by constitutional law-the yearly budget. These elected officials recently met out of fear of teachers and state employees to reinstate group insurance. Nevermind that they don't have the required budget. It seems somewhat ironic that every small city and county in the state must comply with the legislated budgetary requirements ,and yet the State officials have persisted in ignoring the law. I think the Senators and Representatives receive far too much compensation for their services when they ignore the basic requirements. Perhaps we should start a campaign informing our elected officials of our displeasure. This issue goes far beyond political party lines. The fact is that our legislators need to be called to account for their negligience.
